Boston Vocal Technique

Musical theater, classical

Most children are able to sing in the head voice easily. I encourage and teach them to do so. I help them understand that singing in the chest range through shouting makes it impossible to sing in tune with any clarity or projection.

Children are taught to think while they sing, and to watch and listen to themselves in an intelligent manner while maintaining a playful atmosphere. Self-awareness is a key!

Children learn to sing by imitating what they hear. It is important that the child hears and emulates good vocal models. I strive for pure, unforced sound with a beautiful natural focus. I use effective everyday examples to help the young singer build natural and useful vocal technique that can last a lifetime.
